I know you're going to want to know when this was, and where we were. Idr. Obviously I was letting the king drive! That's my little sister in the back seat--Polly. She lives in Carmel.

Do you have any family still in Terre Haute?

No, I only have one sibling. I moved my mom here four years ago from Terre Haute -- from the house my dad built when I was three. My dad died in 2000. My dad was from Illinois; my mom from Kentucky. I have relatives in southern Indiana.

Is that your Dad in the one photo that I posted?

And I'm guessing that's your Mom helping you out with your dress?

When do you think was the last time you saw these photos?

In the shot Tony posted above, I think that's Fran Head in the yellow dress. I don't know who's zipping me up.

No, not my parents.

I haven't seen these photos for at least 30 years!

Doesn't this look like Al Unser's holding a gun? Good grief-- what is it?

WOW, what an odd combination of things in that photo! Bobby Unser wearing his driving suit with a Hawaiian lei around his neck while holding a small rifle, and being photographed with Jan, the Queen of the 1967 Indy 500.

Bobby started the 67 race in 8th position, and finished 9th. This was not his rookie year. Wonder what was going on here? Will call and email the Unser team today and see if someone will run this photo by Bobby. Maybe he would remember something about it. Not many times in a guys life do all these things occur at once.
