Hey Roger, What is the story on your Camaro? Are you the original owner of this this unique Camaro? Do you have any original documentation on this car? If so, does it show the mod top on the invoice or what does it say on the trim tag regarding the mod top? Thanks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Tom D,

Tom yes I am the original owner and below is the invoice. No the top is not on the TT because it was a dealer install. If you look at the first of this thread you will see the information on the Mod Top kits that George Barris was selling in 1967. I have only seen one other Mod Top in person. It was on a 1967 Mercury Cougar and it was in a black and white hounds-tooth design.
Here is a pic of my new Camaro and new bride 45 years ago. When I told her I was going to restore the camaro with a black vinyl top she made me search for the original mod top material. I did think I could find it. After contacting every automotive vinyl dealer in the nation I found it through a dealer in OR.
This is the letter that sealed the deal. This dealer said they found the material in some stuff they purchased from a dealer in TX that was going out of business. We were concerned that the material would be too old to make a top. They shipped the material to someone in FL to make the top. The FL top maker said the material was as good as new. They had no problem making the top with the water tight seams. We did change the design slightly and ran the vinyl down around the rear window. The original top came even with the bottom of the rear window.
Ok, so I'm asleep and late to the party on this one. I just spoke to a guy with an original mod top 67 who read your post and redid his top. Amazing read and it actually helped someone get moving and go original with their top. Not a pace car but a guy who learned something here and followed up. Makes the hobby better from your research Tony.
