Chevy did straight to metal black paint on the convertible top frames..I think I may have found the trick.. Its still a little soft after 10 hours but I'm baking it in the sun now to see. I painted a bare metal rim to test scratch and this is tough enough stuff.. Can't break through to the metal scraping with a metal washer in your hand.. I'll report back in time

The color works for me..Its actually shinier than the pic illistrates

Looks great so far Tom.....Can't wait to see it when it's completed....How much do you think the total restoration will cost?....I would love to have one of the first generation cars.
But if I did, I think that I would have to
sell all of my others to afford one... Smiler

I'll be an honest guy when it comes to the money and will report back.. So far though all I have done is pile receipts up to the sky.. I don't know for certain.. I'm a trader and have a good supply of parts already so the truth may be a little hard to figure..
