Gary,

This may sound crazy, but it looks like you have cardboard taped to the floor. Is that to make it easier to walk on, and slide under the car? confused

Tony,
I hope so. I would love to get her painted by fall, so that I can do the motor, rear end, subframe, etc. We'll see.
Yes, I do have cardboard taped to the floor. I did it last time and liked it. I can drop bondo on the floor, primer, etc. and don't have to worry about it.

Looks like I'll have the majority of Memorial Day to put the nose on!Did more with the thin coverage over black to prectice originality etc.. looks good I think.

The Stencils & Stripes kit was a super tool to use... It has some freaky flaws but nothing compared to taping this sucker up freehand.. I purposely off centered the stripe where it meets the header like some originals.. Something you'd need to see in person to appreciate Roll Eyes

Looking great Tom! Do they send a stencil where to drill the holes for the emblems on the header bar, or do you just know where from drilling the holes multiple times?

No thats a kit from Ricks you can buy but tracing off the originals works best for me. I predrilled the tulip emblems but with the stripes variables I choose to drill after so as to square all the emblems to the blue paint. How many cars have you seen with the SS and CHEVROLET emblem hanging over the paint line or off center? A thousand Razzer

PS. I think the color of the blue is good.. Its not the color of the interior or seat upholstry but somewhere in between the interior and the blue of the Andy Wolf door decals ... Wink

Really hoping the car looks closer to legit than many others.. A first good cut for when 78 is up at bat Cheers

Were the original 67 replacement header bars punched for the emblems? Seems to me they were, and then wrapped in that blue plastic dip type seal like bumpers. That was a long time ago. I may be imagining things. confused
