It's been while since I posted some pictures, so here is a series of pics I took yesterday (4/1/19).

I ordered the dash top suede lacquer (PPG 13217) and dash face paint (PPG 13379) from Instrument Specialties. The suede paint was correct, but the dash face was way off. This is because the formulas were never updated to reflect the changes to the stock colors over the years. Instrument Specialties couldn't solve this problem for me.

As it turns out, OER Bright Blue PP804 is an exact match for the original paint (13379). Of course it comes in a spray can. So I ended up draining the paint from the spray cans and sprayed it with my paint gun...

I think the dash suede came out perfect the first try. What do you think ?

I have enough paint left over to do another car. Maybe I will find a second one some day....

For the firewall I used one of the SEMS Hot Rod Black kits. I think it came out pretty close to the original sheen.

not evident in this picture is the cut line between the black and white on the top of the firewall. It's not a sharp mask line, which is a common mistake. what I did was hang a piece of cardboard across the top of the firewall and painted aiming my gun down at the top. The paint just kind of diffused at the top to give a nice gradual fade effect.

For the trunk I used the Black/Aqua spatter paint from The Parts Place. I first primed the trunk with black epoxy primer as the base color and then spattered over it. I think it came out great. After a few days of drying the spatter paint took on a texture very similar to the dash suede paint.

And lastly the engine. I am still short the correct harmonic balancer and the correct 7027213 DZ carb. The car came with the automatic trans version of the carb 7027218 BC that Rick found.

Chris, thanks for posting! Beautiful work and LOVE the effort (and the EFFECT) of staying faithful to the 'factory' interior finish. Overspray and all. C'est la touche de l'artiste! Once everything is buttoned-up, many will never see... but YOU'LL KNOW & to some of us that's what really matters! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! Charley
