Freshly reconditioned DG Rally wheels awaiting new Wide Oval Redlines...

Left out a sub-story couple years ago... Found the first of these locally... drove to Anaheim CA to pick up 3 I found on Craigslist... and got luck to find a spare on Ebay

And dash panel starting to come together.

Not pictured-- I also delivered reconditioned radio I received earlier this week. Now that the radio is ready to go in; rest of dash will start coming together around it.

Might not look like major progress... but lots of time-consuming detail work going on at this point to cleanup & install the "correct" nuts & bolts, screws, etc. at every step.

Despite great progress... At this point unfortunately it is looking like we are going to fall short of 2 major objectives.

Longtime goals I have held for many years; included 1) taking the car to my High School reunion-- and also; 2) I had always aspired to show the car at a national event. As many of you know; this year's Camaro Nationals are scheduled for June 25. And the HS Reunion is scheduled for... you guessed it, June 25. Just 4 weeks away, either way...

While it might still be possible (in theory) to make the date by cutting corners and fixing/reworking some things later... John & I have ultimately decided to stay true to the approach that has guided us throughout the project: GET IT RIGHT!!

And so the saga continues... so close, but yet so far away...

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL!!! Regards-- Charley

Never rush it.. also there should be some great stuff coming up for the Camaro 50th anniversary.. You will have plant of options.. Maybe even bringing the car to INDY! These guys around here may even be able to get you to have it in the Festival Parade or something..

I'm amazing at all this.. I'm a little broke now after spending some good change on the sons cars parts but I am calling these folks and taking advantage of you guys hard work as soon as humanly possible! .. I am VERY VERY grateful for this getting accomplished.. Thanks guys

This car is going to be splendid

Seats stripped & blasted and will be given a 'bare steel' finish (resembling original bare steel) to protect against rust damage...

Then to reassemble everything with the new AK upholstery (pictured p.32)...

And I suppose I should have also mentioned Mr. Transmission... Before you guys start with the "menage a trois" wisecracks; I should point out he is a close friend of the family...

Bringing things back above board again... Also here is newly recovered Al Knoch Dash pad now in place. Lighting/flash is a little funky but in real life looks great...
