On the factory floor they were already working on my new convertible top & well liner. I had asked if I could take delivery on my visit, so I could take it home with me… they made it happen.

Discussion adjourned from the office to the factory floor, where we got a factory tour. Meanwhile they were also working on a prototype carpet & vinyl sample...

It’s been several weeks now since I returned from my Texas trip… waiting ever so patiently like a kid before Christmas! Knoch’s sent me some pictures by Email—GORGEOUS stuff—but still just a taste of the real thing… Until finally yesterday, 4 huge boxes showed up on my doorstep!

What to my wondering eyes should appear… but brand new seats & boot cover, along with freshly reupholstered rear armrest covers & sun visors. And 2 newly reupholstered dash pads-- one for me, and one for John, my restoration guy (these all from original cores I took to Texas with me). I laid everything out to take in all its glory… PHENOMENAL gorgeous stuff…

Rear armrest & side panels (they call these "quarter panels")...

My elation soon turned to mild disappointment, when I realized my custom-order DOOR PANELS were not included with Thursday’s delivery. Realizing there is a limit to just how much stuff can get packed on a UPS truck… I remained hopeful for more to come… soon…?

So; VERY late Friday afternoon… comes another knock on the door; and 3 more huge boxes!! YES!! Finally my long-awaited door panels had arrived! Eager with anticipation, I carefully opened the first box. The door panels are GORGEOUS beyond the description of conventional adjectives. And the carpeting/vinyl look is EXACTLY what I had hoped to achieve. I could not be more pleased with the end result… it is well worth the time & effort to cover the extra mile!

The folks at Knoch's were SUPER friendly and helpful. We (Mike & I) settled into the office to spread out our samples. The carpet was a slam dunk-- Both Mike & I, along with Knoch's folks, agreed on the match. I was cautiously hopeful the vinyl welting selection would go equally well.

Mike had a vinyl sample that he liked, from prior visits. Also I had the aforementioned Knoch sample I liked, that they needed to revalidate.

We put all the cards on the table (so to speak)... And as it so happened-- Mike's sample & mine were THE SAME MATERIAL-- with BOTH also matching a SECOND sample Mike obtained in the factory-- AND ALL MATCHING THE VINYL FROM MY DOOR PANEL!!!

The correct vinyl for the door panel's carpet welting ended up being '69 Camaro dark blue 32 ounce vinyl

The correct type for the carpet is Trenton, not Tropicana. Wink
