I wasn't sure how we were going to be able to do the endpoints, but I'm thinking this looks like we should be in good shape. Obviously how it looks after painting will be the real litmus test...

I've not forgotten about the dash top details... I will be posting the full technique sometime soon, but still need a couple small details before posting...

QUESTION:
==========

For those of you who have both pinstripes & decals-- Generally how do you avoid the interference between pinstripe & the script letters "C" in Crevrolet Camaro???

I have seen some cars where the decal panel is obviously cheated down a little bit... but I want to keep the dash of letters F & E in "OFFICIAL PACE" centered on the body line crease (as seems to be the fairly-general practice)... seems to me the most obvious option would be to cheat the "Chevrolet Camaro" script down just a tad or two... Pinstripe over door handle is at 2 5/8" per the blueprint...

Charlie,

Looks great.

Did you get the dark blue Pace car decals from the member on here or the light blues one from Heartbeat?

I had both and the dark blue ones are the correct ones and look better IMO. first

Hi Charley,
Your Pacer is turning out amazing! I love the dash picture. It is really looking awesome. I see all kinds of different versions of decals versus pinstripes. Some look to be touching the pinstripe and others look to be just under the pinstripe and then some look to be about a 1/2 inch or more below the pinstripe. It doesn't take much to position the decal where you think it looks good and I am sure the dealerships just slapped them on without aligning the decal where the pinstripe was, otherwise they would pretty much be all the same. It seems to me that the pinstripe went on first and then the decal went on last. So the decal ended up where it did. I am pretty sure this is a picture of #92. It has the grab bars in the back. Keep up the great work! You are really doing a magnificant job!

Now what we need is an engine! Have some leads but still searching...

Charley,
You said earlier you were looking for a engine for your 67 Pacer.
You might want to keep your eyes open on the Team Camaro website. There is always someone selling parts and engines. You might find a correctly date coded 396 for your Pacer. There is a guy selling a 67 Camaro 396 for $750, but he doesn't say what the date code is. It is a "MY" engine code which is correct for a 67 Camaro. If I come across anything else I will definitely let you know. Link is below.

Hey Charley,
I have a question for you. Are your fenders off a RS Camaro? The reason I am asking is because the front set of the holes don't seem to line up for the SS emblems. Just curious! If you look at the other pictures of the nose stripes like on Bruce and Carens Pacer and the picture that Tom McGinnty posted earlier the holes look different than yours.

Charley,
Here is another vintage picture of a Pacer Car showing off it's decal. The decal looks well below the pinstripe. Sorry, I am not trying to confuse you, but just showing you that there are differences between each Pacer with their decals.:-) This is Pacer #55. As you can see they vary between each Pacer. I think you have a little leeway to play with. You just have to pick which one you like. The decal in this picture looks great to me.

This vintage photo shows the two pacers with decals below the pinstripe.:-) Almost identical in their position to the pinstripe.

Charley,
It looks to me as if the majority is about 1/2 inch below the pinstripe. I find it funny that the "hero Pacer" is the one that is not in the majority with it's decal. Big Grin It makes the choice of where to put it pretty easy.:-)
