Has anyone seen this picture before?

What a wonderful color picture of several 1967 Camaro Indy Pace cars out front of Oaklandon Chevrolet Pontiac in 1967.

So many cool things in this picture:

Notice the Camaro on the right side of the picture with the standard wheel covers and the door decal! It looks to be a hardtop without a nose stripe!

Notice the convertible directly below the "CHEVROLET" sign on the building. It has mag wheel covers, white wall tires, a door decal and what looks to be a BLACK nose stripe if you compare it to the blue nose stripe on the car directly in front of it!!!

Notice that only two of the four cars that appear in the front line have the medallion on the rear quarter panel.

Notice the signs on the windows. One says "CAMARO THE PACE CAR!" Another says "Welcome! the 500 SALE IS ON" The sign above the door has a blue Chevy bow-tie and the word "CAMARO" in red.

Let me know what else you guys see in this fantastic picture that I am missing.

I found the picture in a website for Alex Beloff III. It states that he was the top salesman at the dealer in the mid 60's. Maybe someone should contact him to see if he has any more pictures and to get his recollections.

Right under the LET in Chevrolet I see a white pace car behind the 4 in front. Convertible top down, decals on door, and a black nose stripe plain as day.

The second and the fourth are Festival Committee cars.. Both have gold medallions. The fist car has a dark front plate that I am unfamiliar with

I thought you guys would like this one!

According to the web site where I found the picture, Alex Beloff III, the guy who posted this picture was the top salesman at this dealer in the mid 60's so maybe one of you guys should try to contact him to see if he has the negative for this picture and perhaps even more pictures. You could even do an interview to find out his recollections of both the 1967 and 1969 time periods.

Now a suburb of the City of Lawrence in Lawrence Township in the N.E. corner of Marion County. IIRC somtime in the '70's Indianapolis incorporated and all of Marion County became Indianapolis

EDIT!!! Better link about Oaklandon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...rion_County,_Indiana /wiki/L...rion_County,_Indiana[/url]

I found it while performing a routine Google images search for "1967 Pace." It turns out the guy who posted the picture, Alex Beloff III, was the top salesman at this dealer in the mid 60's. It appears on his website dedicated to salesman techniques: http://alexbeloff3.com/appearance-is-vital/

You know the way the cars are park it looks like they maybe had a caravan going and either just arrived or are just about to depart with the Bonneville/Catalina as the lead car (odd place to park). Also note all the activity and people milling around the cars, and the two gentlemen in what looks like matching blue pants/yellow shirts at the doors of two of the verts' in the line. Someone took a picture just like we do when we're moving a bunch of the cars somewhere!

Amazing.......

Great work , I am sure this single photo will answer even more of our questions which still remain outstanding....

Is someone going to contact this guy?

There appears to be some method of contact on the webpage the photo is on.

To me this appears to be preparation for the group to go somewhere......

Yes and whitewall tires as well. Zooming in on the picture it looks to be a coupe without a nose stripe.

A number of dealerships that handled the Replicas had "Drive Aways" where replicas were driven in parade fashion to out of the area dealerships.....If this pic was taken after the race.... I think that is what we are seeing in this photo!

WOW. Im in shock FANTASTIC find. Every time I look at this picture, I see something new. I cant tell if there is a decal on the vent window of thefirsr car or if it is something in the background. I would like to know what the big sign at the top right says. This guy has to have more. Appears his office is in Grapevine...a suburb of Dallas/Ft Wort.
