I already have several other cars including a supercharged 700hp 2010 Camaro. The pace car is a really beautiful car but it is not exactly what I look to collect - I prefer classic muscle cars that have been rebuilt to factory specs.
David here from Ray Skillman group. We have car number 6 that was changed to number 38. It is currently on ebay. Feel free to call me if anyone has questions. (317)371-8935.
It will be interesting to see if anyone here bought it. Very interesting bidding history on the auction. The winner bid on day one at 35k, the loser (only 2 people bid) bid 30k then 34999 on day 2. winner raises his/ her bid by 500, loser bids next day to 36010 and then raises it two days later by $90.00 Winner bids 35700 with 5 minutes to go, does not beat the 36010 (from the loser) so he/she goes again at 36899+ can't tell the last amount as it hit reserve with 30 seconds or so to go in the auction. Then raises their price above reserve with 2 seconds to go.
Looks like the $36,000 to $37,000 range is about what one of these will bring right now which is about window sticker on them.
He may have gotten a bit better deal buying two of them from the dealer there in Indy, but after transporting it home, perhaps paying sales tax?, and paying the ebay fee for selling it, I don't think he made anything on this one. But if it did really sell, he made a buyer very happy I am sure
I can satisfy the speculation about the 2010 Pace Car on Ebay; I am the seller (olddt). Yes it will be sold, the buyer sent a deposit today and plans to pick it up tomorrow. I was using Ebay tactics with a low reserve hoping real buyers would jump on the band wagon to bid it up at least over $40k. One guy put his bid in Sunday that met the reserve and must have scared him so he immediately withdrew it. The high bidder really didn't have any competition but he wanted the car so he put his bids in till he hit the reserve. I would have been smarter to take it off Ebay to talk to the folks that emailed me. I had several offers at $40k; but why those people didn't bid is beyond me. So it didn't make any money to speak of; but maybe the 2nd will because of its very low vin number and being one of the last ones available. By the way I like this site, I have learned a lot about the 2010 Pace Cars (especially my 2, lol). I have a 69 396 Pace Car that will be for sale by Meccum in Kissimmee, Fl in January. You can see it on TV that Fri night around 6:30 along with a 69 SS Chevelle 396/375 Convert.
