I have seen the Pat Roberts car it is alive and well down in south FL. It was the first 4K car and only remaining L78 pace car retaining its original, born-with drivetrain from what ive seen. Wonderful restoration too!

Good to know! I now recall we were very curious about this car and selling from Ohio to a dealer was odd. We had speculated all kinds of things like a mule for Chevy or whatever the mind wishes because it didn't go straight to the Indy Zone office as the vast majority of 0-1's did.. then being Ohio we figured the factory had a little something to do with the car.. It all died down after we hit dead ends..

Always had this article saved because I thought it was one of the more unique barn finds I've ever read about. Car was documented back to the early 70's!

Jim does this pacer have its "born-with" engine/trans? Have seen posts on the sYc questioning the engine pad stamp and trim tag. Just wondering what is actually for sale here. Either way, very nice restoration - will make any buyer happy!
