Ok, just an idea here. Car has been quartered on both sides, we have bolt holes that Tom thought may have been from a traction device.Perhaps the reason it's been quartered on both sides is it has been rear ended. The holes could be from a frame puller?I noticed in one shot you can see what looks like factory undercoating in the rear wheel well.Kinda strange and well all know I'm an expert on strange!!!! Big Grin What you guys think? Cheers

Revisited the pics for this car. Looks to me that the trunk braces and some stuff around tail lights look better than the rest of trunk. Also looks like a new trunk gasket. The floor has a lot of scale on it but other parts look to clean .Still a good car to start project.

Good thinking but its way too virgin in the back.. plus the holes are above the springs in line with where traction bars would be and the shock plates are still aftermarket hot-rod units and the bump stops have been changed out with some speed part style items..

I like your suspicious mind though Wink

It took a bit of looking at this, but I think I may have figured out what those bolt holes are for. Take a look at this picture:

See the strange slots at the back of the lower seat cushion. I think these line up with the bolt holes and most likely were for custom seat belts...

A roll bar could definitely be a possibility, but that would make that back seat awfully uncomfortable.

That back seat and speakers looks like they came out of a boat! Do convertibles float? Maybe the bolt holes are from a water ski pole... ;-)

If the car had a roll bar, do you suppose the owner had raced it and radiused the wheel openings for tire clearance.
