ok guys...

I've recently sold my 69 Chevelle SS396 (for a good price) and picked up another (more practical) car for the family. Thought I'd never say this, but we now have a 99 Mustang Cobra convertible (black on black with lots of performance mods....)

So now that I'm cleaning house, the wife and I decided to sell the 06C C-4 rather then wait till the twins get older (they are now nearing 2 years old) to restore it.

I'll add all the details about the "Project" car after the kids go to bed tonight.

I will not list the car anywhere else but here for a few days, they I'm going to try to sell it locally on Criagslist. David Parr has seen it firsthand about 5 years ago right after we bought it from Chris Tucker in Lockport, NY. The car originally came from the Dayton, Ohio area.

We're thinking everything for $8000, which puts us in the hole about $3000 (the L48 and M20 weren't cheap), in an effort to move the car into someone elses garage.

In the meantime, my contact number is 828-409-6552 or drop me a PM.

oh...

Just to clarify, the car is a black nose, blue topper! NOT a pace car!

Its just a car built after the race in the same fashion and codes as the 8 - 10 Zone Blue Toppers ordered by the Indy Zone managers before the race that some of us have grown to love. You know the one's with mag wheel hubcaps!!!

VIN: 124677N237440
(hidden and cowl VIN's match)
Built 8 VIN's after 10th Canadian Festival BB car

Originally came with a console and gauges.

The car came without its original drivetrain, so we purchased a properly coded (date matching) L48 350 and M20 Muncie.

Also cocktial shakers and a square traction bar as these weren't in it when we purchased it from Chris, just the bracket on the body...

No front clip, no interior (has 68 regular interior seats), a 68 cluster, and a 12 bolt (posi) with 3:36's out of a 67 Nova? Has multileafs, traction bars, and subframe connectors (removed now). Front brakes were converted by a previous onwer from drum to power-disc (single piston).

Car was drag raced since 1971, so the quarters and wheelwell inners/outers are all cut up as well as the trunk and a few places on the firewall. The body (underbody) is VERY solid with little rust.

Will need front clip, interior, doors (bottoms are bad), quarters with inners/outers, trunk floor (trunk had been cut up for a fuel cell and battery mounting), and bumpers.

I'll load up some pictures later...

some more information and pictures attached ...

Please ask for any information or pictures and I'll respond when I can. I'm pretty well up to speed on these cars (the black nosers and blue toppers)....

I can't access this website during work, so I'll have to get back in the evening once the kids are off to bed (after 9 pm).

Does anyone have any advice/feedback on me selling this car?

I know we're upsidedown since its a project car and needs so much, but its still pretty rare and will look awesome once soneone restores it.... Wish that was me, but I'm pretty happy right now with our new convertible which is a practical driver car and could use the space in our garage and basement...

Well, its been a few months and we haven't had much time to think about selling the car...

I've considered the current economy and that you can pick up a pace car for not much more then $10,000 these day and really want our blue topper to go to someone in this group/site rather than just anybody....

So rather then part out the car as my wife suggested this weekend since we have the correct date coded (but Non number matching) L48 350 and M20 muncie, we'll entertain any offer and was thinking $6000 or Best Offer may motivate someone who would like to restore a blue topper.

This has us $5000 in the hole, but at least the car may stay together and hopefully someone can restore it in this group or at least use the parts in a 67.

These cars (even if not connected with the pacers and/or Zone cars) are very rare based on my database and research. They also look awesome with a black nose strip and mag wheel hubcaps that the Zone cars sported, which is exactly how this car would look restored.

The car needs to go this month based on some items we need to deal with....

Anybody?

Thanks!

Cowl tag before I cleaned it up. Its not scratched up like it looks in the picture, this is just years of paint and buildup.

Dash and front floor. Some signs of roll cage plates and some cutting/holes from years or drag racing items/mods. The car was stored inside most of its life..

Rear frame/unibody

Frame and unibody is in good shape where it wasn't cut or altered for drag racing. Little rust and original undeercoating is still present...
