Excellent find Tom. I didn't read his whole ad and see you sent him a question about previous owners. I did the same. If someone buys it please keep in touch with the site.

I guess this club is rather exclusive. Big Grin There are only 150 spots to be filled, maybe less. Once the places are filled you have to stand in line and wait for an opening! Razzer

I usually don't draw comparisons, but we had 2 67 pacers for sale within a week. Both similar in price, both non original drive train, both needing work, both LA built cars.
I'll admit the first car I questioned the body numbers, this was from seeing the car in person (some years ago), the second car had such a great picture display of the vehicle, there was no question as to the condition or nature of the car.
The first car was also inspected by another interested party (after seeing it for sale) and ran for its duration, not making reserve.
The second car sold quite quickly.
My opinion is the second car had a lengthy open description loaded with pictures, which helped immensely in the sale.

Thats right David.. No bull from the seller.. clear, large and detailed pictures.. truth about the driveline not being original but in the ballpark and visually correct.. Realistic price and a great presentation.. Maybe too heavy on the mid 1990's old school quotes but certainly nothing to fault..

AND

We get a new member and a car thats to be restored and enjoyed

A win-win and a lesson to future sellers checkered flag

I think people are starting to realize that these cars were misrepresented for years (100 cars made) (1 of 18 whatever) (all were RS/SS) the list is endless. The research is evolving constantly bringing new things to light. I think we are open minded and eager to find the truth, and as a group with a similar interest, working on such a small production run (both calendar year and quantity) we are making good headway. People sharing the info makes the difference.

And not to go unnoticed: We have been lucky enough to have a few cars always under restoration and as any given car is finished a new one like this example pops up to keep the flow going along nicely!

It sure looks like a good solid start. I look forward to the new owner joining us. I am interested in purchasing the headrest front seats which were in the auction with the car as they are not correct for this car. My other 67 has black delux trim and i sure would love to add a set of headrest sets if anyone knows of some for sale?

If anyone knows the buyer can you put them in touch with me?

That was my car. I sold it to Fred. I just did not have the time or place to restore it. I hope to see it in the future all restored.
