No my car was not used in the production on the model. They found a picture of my car on indypacecars.com they wanted to use on the box. The owner of the site put them in touch with me and I provided them with a large format 600DPI image to use on the box. They digitally removed the flags since the model didn't have them. Gave me two models and insisted on a photo credit on the box.

BTW, ever since I've displayed one to me it just seemed there was something a little bit off, not quite perfect. A few months ago it finally hit me, the windshield looks a little too tall. I bet they used the coupe dimensions not realizing the convertible windshield is a little bit shorter. They also mistakenly used the '68 header/trunklid emblems as well. Overall a very nice model though, one of the better ones ever made IMO.

Well I guess since there seems to be a lot of B.S'ers in the world anymore, if I do tell anyone they don't seem to believe it. Sort of project a "yeah sure it is buddy" attitude.

Mike,

I really appreciate your taking the time to tell me the story of what came to be on the model. Very interesting to read how that came about. I'm not very knowledgeable on the '67 specifics. Compared to others here on the '67, I'm pretty much in the dark. But picking it up reading all the feedback from members that are extremely knowledgeable.

Of all the models I've seen of the '67 this one really grabbed my attention. That's why I posted about it. It didn't have that obvious model look that most models do. It just stands out, and looks about as close to looking like a real car in a picture as I've ever seen. I know, for me, I'd be proud if any car I ever owned was used as the picture on any car item. I'm impressed.
