Never let anyone tell you otherwise.. the vast majority of these guys are proud and hard workers. More than one fellow told me that the troublemakers so famous and blamed were but 5% of the total population of the plant.. One lady took the time to tell me how grateful she was that the plant afforded her husband a paycheck that enabled her to be a stay-at-home Mom who subsequently raised very successful children.. Isn't that what America is supposed to be?

OK. I'm going to end this evenings photo posting session with a good look at the retirees themselves... Fantastic people: each and every one! If they worked in the plant in 67' I asked for a photo in front of my car

Its gotta mean a lot to be there when both of your sons take the day to bring you. He was telling me that he worked the plant so long that to this day he still has dreams of assembling cars.. This guy dedicated his life to this place

I want to thank Phil for an outstanding event. The importance of this show for me, was measured in the faces of the people that worked on the cars we love so much today. You could feel the pride they had in building the iconic cars that we hold so high. The work it takes to put on a show is not lost on me. Since I have done a few myself. Getting car owners together in a great location is one thing, but having an entire work force come together is simply amazing. I for one will be standing at the front of the line for one of the first copies of Phil's book...BKH
Glad you had a good time. I spoke to one of the retiree event coordinators and much to our surprise there was a sizable number of no shows still despite the good weather. The reasons Some may decide not to come can be a bit complex however this may indicate that the comfort factor in reuniting together may still be maturing to a degree.
This is good news for any near term future event as I suspect that as word travels that a good time was on tap-I suspect attendance could rise by a fair margin.
