I've removed my heater core and I'm in the process of cleaning up all the parts etc. and then painting them. I have some questions and I figure someone could advise me on the best way to approach this.
Should I start a new post or just continue this one? Also there is an inspectors sticker on the heater core housing, should I try to remove that before I paint and then glue it back on or is something like that insignificant.

Yes.. the litle sticker that faces inside the cabin.. white with black ink? The size of a thumbnail? keep that!
