Not sure, but I think the seller may be referring to the graphics added at the track as an optional package.

That is kind of awesome that someone saved one of those cars and put it away! Every year the track has a few special track vehicles like this one in addition to all the normal festival and track cars. My 2004 Impala SS Indy is one of these cars. It was used on the parade laps of the Indy 500 in 2004 and actually paced the pace car on those parade laps! Mine had all the graphics removed (except for the winged wheel decals) after the GM auction and the strobes removed before it was sold at the Indy GM used vehicle auction. I think this one still having everything on it is quite cool and rather unusual since most of the vechicles like this are stripped of everything "Indy" prior to resale by dealers who get them at the GM auction. For anyone into Impalas this is a very special Impala indeed!

Danny, I finally was able to get you a photo of the 04 Impala Festival car I have seen in the Fishers Carmel Area for the last 7 years. Car #171. I talked with the owner for a few minuets and swapped info. He plans to bring the car to the Indy show in May. Maybe you can catch up with him then. I tried to find the old article we started about your car but I think it was to old and deleted off the site.

Lee, thanks for posting this and emailing me the info also. I do not know the track number of my car, but learning the number of this one makes me curious if mine is one number higher or lower possibly? I will be anxious to meet this owner in May at the reunion! I have been told that there were only two of these Impala SS's with the graphics on them and that they were both used on the parade lap in the race as you can see in the photo I got from the track.

He added the strobes for sure since GM would not seel the car with strobes.

Yes they will routinely stick the decal "package" on a number of various cars/trucks/vans used at the "event", so I think that is what they're getting at. Although I don't believe I've heard that particular nomenclature used before. But is works for me!

In a rare "Lee moment" for me anyway, I think I have a picture of one (the only?) of the '96 Brickyard event Impala SS's sitting in the flag lot.

We need to see that!!
