If it gets restored it'll be no different than all the rest.. For a guy to spend 100k on a car and then restore it is foolish.. for 85 +- he can just get one already restored...
Lets pray it stays the way it is tom @ camaropacecars.com ( remove the space between m,@,c) |

My hope is that the buyer will not restore it. It could probubly be detailed better but I really don't think anyone interested in this car would restore it. As a seller that limits the market. So far everyone I've talk to about buying the car is interested in it for two reasons. One it an L78 and second it's unrestored. So let's hope it stays that way. I knew you guys would appreciate it for what it is. And thanks for the comments

Just out of curiosity, what is the # embossed on the coil? Is it a 270 or a 293?

Is one of these coil #'s for the electronic ignition set up? Just curious as I may have something to contribute here

I was curious due to the fact that a BB car comes with a 293 Coil, but a cowl induction car states you get a 270 Coil. I've asked this question to other experts on survivor cars and they have NO IDEA. So hopefully this car retains its original coil and will answer the question.

This story is rough but I could fine tune it in time. I did not pay too much attention as 69 is not my forte but at The Norwood Gathering I had a quick conversation with the fellow who was in charge on replacing all the distributors in the 375hp engines that got electronic style ignitions by some mistake or other ( which of course happened all the time regardless of what others may have you believe). I appologize for having not taken the time to absorb what he was saying he did, but suffice to say he will have quite a few 69 Pacecar anecdotes to share. My interest in this is pretty much curiosity to see if there is truth to this via a spreadsheet of survivor 375 hp Pacecar engine distributor numbers and coils I suppose? If by some chance the distributors don't make sense date or numerically then that may be a cross check for the story.. asked and answered so to speak.. although there are no hardcore 69 lovers who track or keep any statistics or registries at all

Tom,
Thanks for your feedback on this. Hopefully Rick will chime in on some feedback and hopefully we can get a spread sheet started like you guys have done for the 67's. I would be happy to reproduce your 67 sheet for the 69 cars if you like. I have allot part 's and dates written down for my car to add to the list as well. |

Weave.. the full hospitality of this website is sitting waiting for a SERIOUS long term team of guys to start that 69 up! I cannot even consider it as its obvious I'm lagging behind terribly for 67 and can't even recruit fresh blood to help.. thank God for the guys I've ( We've ) got!

The L78 engine was in state of disrepair to say the least when the Pacer was found. All I can say is that there was a 293 coil in the trunk. I've heard the same thing about 270 coil's vs 293's but can't confirm that the coil in the trunk was the coil in it when it was new. However, I find it hard to believe it would be in the trunk and not from the car originaly.

Am I missing someting here or what? The Dealer sales order is dated well after the end of 1969 Camaro Pace Car Build date that ended first week of May 1969. In fact I believe Chev. would be in the 70 production orders not 1969 that late in the year. Please help me understand what I'm missing here and:
