I have finally been able to get an appointment with Mario Andretti to show him my 2010 Pace Car he set up for me to buy with GM.

I am going to have him sign the car somewhere, but have not yet decided where.

Any Ideas?

On the dash passenger side is where I would have the signature I think, if there's a smooth spot you can clear over to preserve it.

I would go with under the hood. His signature on the dash may not look very good. (style, size etc.)

Got it done earlier today. He said I was dumb for having me sign his car. He felt somehow he was defacing it. The guy is so humble it is unbelievable.

He signed the Dash. That is where he thought it would be best, so I went with that since it was his idea.

Actually Mario went into his office and grabbed a Sharpie. He picked the Silver.

On my 2007 Corvette Indy 500 Track car, I had Dario and Helio sign the underside of my center console armrest (it was a simple removal process). I was going to do the same on my Camaro, but after trying to remove it so they could sign, I just gave up and decided to go under the hood. They both signed the fuse box cover, and I purchased another cover from Chevrolet on those days when I drive the car and only pop on the signed piece for car shows. I'm not sure if the engine heat would damage the sharpie ink or not. I also wrote the build sequence info on the cover - #1 of 295.

I would like to get Dario to sign it as well, but not sure what the significance of Helio signing it would be.

Both years Helio won pole position, so I just wanted to get the driver who started the race and the one that finished it.

What type of "pen"is recommended for signing? I have several coming up and I'd like to make sure that all goes well. They'll be signing carbon fiber pieces that are smooth. Those pieces will be clear-coated upon return home...
