We finally got some decent weather recently, so we took the '93 for a spin. It wasn't long before I remembered how hot it can get from the sunshine coming through the roof panels. For those of you who do drive your car, this may be of some use (comfort) to you. I think you will find that Option RPO DE4 wasn't available for the 1993's. This is known as 'Removable Hatch Roof Sunshade' and are panels that attach to the underside of the roof, thereby effectively blocking the heat from the sun. I'm not sure when these became available but I had them on my '95, 15 years ago and sure did/do a good job. For the purist, they are quickly and easily removed. I purchased mine for the IPC a couple of years ago so they should still be available through GM parts. Hope this Tip Of The Day makes for 'happy motoring' for y'all
I remember in 1989 I put in the order for a Trans Am for my son, who was in the Air Force at that time. He ordered an option, don't remember the code, that had optional shades that covered over the roof panels. Just put them in place. Strange how one model line can have what another doesn't get for years, from the same manufacturer.
Jim ,in Indiana we do not get as much sun as you do down in Florida. We have a lot of gray days.
I have a set someplace that I never once used after getting them from a junker in 96. If I remember correctly the newer style 4th gen T-Top that used these had a tent job with out the little dots. I always thought it would be cool to buy some of the newer style T-Tops and a power antenna from a T/A but never did.
Anyone ever have a T-Top fly off? I did in 94 and lucky for me it landed in some soft grass. A little muddy but not broken.

Hi Lee, now that must have been scarey, to have one just lift off! After just short of 30 yrs of ownership, I sold my '55 Chevy to a fellow in Australia so we brought the IPC home to Ontario last summer. When I bought the '93, 4 yrs ago(+/-) I insisted that it was supposed to have the sunshades, so they became part of the deal BTW, cruisin' thru the Blue Ridge Mtns in a '93 Camaro was 'superstuff'.
Lee Move to the southside of indy we have 70 and sunny days year round. Do you have to work Sat. David and I will be at the track hope to see you there
