Gas pedal jamed

Last week I was on the highway with my IPC. After I accelerated up to 120km/h (75mph), the gas pedal acted as if it were hanged out while the car just accelerated (upto 180km/h and further). Every trial to tame the car wasn't successful. The only thing I could do was drive to the side of the highway and turn the key.

After this very unpleasant ride, I opened the hood and checked everything.
Unfortunately I couldn't find anything. Thats why I worte this message, to ask whether other drivers ever had similar incidents?

Not familiar with 93's but if it has a throttle " cable " then you need to see if it hasn't frayed inside the black plastic casing.. Or read the side and make sure you were'nt driving someones Toyota roll checkered flag

Roman,

Serious situation. I would check the Throttle body for gum-up at the shaft, any lack of free play at the cable.

Found some discussion Here: http://www.camaroz28.com/forum...wthread.php?t=496537

Sorry for my late answer was busy the last few days.

Thank you for your answers! Well I'm absolutely sure that I don't have a Toyota, since my car sounded very nice ;-)....V8 *I like*..
But back to the problem. I'll check the throttle body for gum-up tomorrow. Maybe a "second" look under the hood helps :-).

As soon as I got the solution I'll post it. In the mean time I'd be grateful for any further idea that may solve the issue.
Thanks

Roman

Guess what, checked the throttle body and found the problem. The sealing from the airfilter gummed up the throttle body.
Thanks festival! Now I can enjoy driving my IPC again.

BTW, I noticed, that in my IPC the Air filter has been replaced. Unfortunately the new airfilter isnt an original one. So, to check how the original one looks like, i would be grateful if someone could post some pictures of the original integrated airfilter. Thanks

Ok Roman, here is a pic of the entire assembly showing the air cleaner box at the bottom center of the pic and the tubing to the engine. The original air cleaner takes AC filter # A1163C or equivalent. If you want anything else, I'll see what I can do.

Hey Camarodr, thanks for your effort taking the photo. Well from the picture, it looks like I have the same air cleaner box, but another tube connecting the throttle body and the cleaner. I'll check the AC filter # as soon as possible. So thanks again.
