OK, now we know how many 93 Pace cars were built(maybe)and how many were hard tops(maybe). I am sure it has been on here in the past, but I was curious as to how many of you think you know how many 6 speed 93 Pace cars were built? And what became of any that were built?

I know of the one 6-speed built for Perkins and I know of one that Matt Mutphy converted into a six speed.

You can then have Macco touch up the paint around the sunroof.

That's a great idea! They will probably give me a better finish than I had planed. I'm glad I read this in time. I can return my 2 cans of unused spray paint to Wal-Mart.

Thanks Bill! Cheers

Hey Ron.....Maybe you'd better keep the cans of paint. You never know when ya might need to touch up the body on the pace car! Wink

Yep as far as I know the factory built only one six speed 93 Pace Car for Chevrolet's own Jim Perkins. That is a good 93 Pace Car trivia question! Anyone know if Jim Perkins still has that car?

The Perkins '93 sure would be a good car to own. Not only the rarity, but the history behind it.

He was at the Camaro Nationals in 1993 and he was saying how much he loved it so I assume he still has it.....someone could possibly do a CARFAX report on it. The last 6 digits of the VIN are: 100524........I agree with ipc93, It would sure be a PERFECT one to own!

I understand that he now works for Childress or Hendrick and still has the car.

Jim Perkins currently works for Hendricks Motorsport and he does still own his 93 six speed manual car the only one ever built at the factory. It was actually festival car #107 in 1993 assigned to Borg Warner and the VIN # 2G1FP22P0P2112259.Jim Perkins drove the pace car on race day but it was not his six speed. The car he drove was #2 of the 3 official track cars VIN # 2G1FP22P4P2100096 and is the one that now belongs to the track museum.FYI Larry Millers car is not one of the 8 Internal use 93 pace cars on my list but the 3 official track duty cars are included in the list of 8.

Hey Toolman...That's interesting. My source states that Jim Perkins was assigned the car with last 6 VIN # 100524 which was the first car in the USA/Canadian production sequence. I assumed that this was the 6 speed car. I guess that's what I get in ASSUMING!! Big Grin.....Do you have any take on this car????? confused

I ran a car fax on 2112259. Orginal title issued in Warren MI with 7500 miles 11/1993. Then moved to Arizona in 1999 with 8000 miles. (Must have been trucked). Last inspection in Arizona Last Oct now with 9000 miles.

It would be nice to know which is correct.
My info says Perkins car was VIN 100524; was production no. 1 and was festival car no. 93.
I show the Borg Warner car as VIN 112259, with the festival no.107. Finally I have festival car no 78 as the second one produced and assigned to the track.

Everything that I have matches up with HEATHERZ......That's the reason I assumed the Perkin's car was THE 6 speed car since it was the first production car built. confused
