Had a great time at the Homecoming event. Took my 78 festival car to it and found some more info on it.

Took 41 years but driving the track was awesome.

The turn out was good.

No it's not car 78, I have not been able to find out what number it was. It's just a 1978 Festival car.

Glad you rescued this one and are keeping it on the road! I saw it at the reunion and thought it was cool that it was in such original unrestored condition. I would think very few of those still even exist today!

I've been looking for 4 years now and cannot find another one yet. I believe this is the last one left of the ones built for that race.

From my research the 1978 race is the most special race Indy had. Did anyone know that to have all the cars from that race there are 3. The Corvette pace car replica, the Monte Carlo Festival Car, the Camaro Z28 Festival car, and in 2008 they did a 30 year tribute Corvette pace car.

Im curious what the trim tag on the 78 festival cars looks like? Any chance you can post or email?
