Just browsing through this years vehicles for Scottsdale and noticed a '69 Pace Car that claims all original. But I noticed that the antenna is at the right rear corner, and not the front right corner like mine, or any others that I have seen. Anyone know if this was done in the factory for some specific models??

Agree with Brad here, also the car has, or is stated to have, an AM/FM radio. I beleive the rear antenna was only allowed for AM radios. This may be a double no no.

You are absolutely correct. Rear antenna is for an AM radio only and having a rear antenna would void one from having a factory installed rear spoiler.
so I wonder if a 69 IPC could have been ordered spoiler delete, and with a rear antenna?
My 67 has a factory rear mount antenna, and a retro fit GM spoiler. Can't figure out why they mounted the antenna so far forward on this 69. That is really nasty.

I read the Barrett-Jackson description. One of only three Pace Cars to be documented as L-78's with their Protecto-Plates by the ICC. So that means there is only one other 69 L78 Pace Car out there with its Protecto-Plate counting mine and the one going thru B-J. Hard to believe !

Factory no, but probably a dealer installation. In the 60's it was very common for dealers to order cars radio delete and then have their parts dept. install cheaper radios that they had in stock. Dealers saved alot of money that way. If this was the case the rubber grommet in the passenger side door jam will be solid
