We currently only have a registry of 1967 pace cars.

I'm very skewed to the 67's myself so the problem we have is that nobody has ever stepped up to the plate wanting to run a 1969 IPC registry.. Its a time consuming task but the glory sits and waits for a dedicated someone first

Theres a lot of these cars and I bet a detailed registry would unlock secrets about production and the like that nobody has ever thought about before...

This site stands ready to host such a registry but needs physical help from a dedicated hardcore 69 enthusiast or team of enthusiasts What

I'm game for helping out with this. Including mine, there's only 3675 of them. Hard hard could it be? Spin

Not sure how a person would go about doing this but I would be glad to help.

It would require effort to begin. Bill and I would have to set stuff up.. Bill the actual hosting on the site and I would contact David Parr our 67 keeper and ask him to give you a template thats used for 67 which is an Excel Spreadsheet... You 69 guys would need to assemble a legit dedicated team with a single leader who will diligently enter the info as it comes in...with double redundant back up helpers so when a guy gets his panties in a bunch we are not screwed.. sorry about being frank but thats how it goes

With the paultry amount of 67's I can tell you that David has to make at least 4-6 entries a week be it a resale, added info. removing a fake or what have you... its real work

And the decision about whether it would be public is always a tough call.. may men will not want their info public... Its been a thorn in the side of the 67's for decades

There is also the gorilla method where you disclude us as it gets started...show real progress and then integrate into the site for support...or just a new topic of discussion to grab as much easy info as is out there..

I think I'd like to see that excel spreadsheet. How much info is necessary for a registry? I am definitely willing to help out, however I'm not sure if I have the knowledge to lead it or take responsibility.

I would be happy to post the registry on the site. If you guys want to get one going that's great. You will need to tell me who gets to submit edits to it, who gets to see it…..

There are two important items.
1) The site in NO way validates or certifies that a car is a pace car. There are way too many folks faking tags, stamping engines and everything else under the sun.

2) Anyone who submits information has to agree to the how the information will be used. Tom and I also need to agree how information gathered thru and connected to this site is used.

To start you need to determine what information you'd want to capture for each car. This is not labor intensive unless you make it so. I would set up a special email account connected to the site that people could send information to that I would automatically forward to whatever email accounts the registry "masters" want.

To help you all get going just send me a PM with who is interested. I will host the PM with all those interested in helping out. In the PM we can discuss and agree on the how's, who's ,,,,

What's the risk in posting VINs in public? Is the 67 registery public and does it include the VINs? I looked around on the 67 pages and didn't see it - I have seen various comments about not wanting to post VINs publicly - I guess so tags aren't replicated but not sure why that is such a big deal?

That's one of the points the registry "masters" will need to decide. Do you want to publish? On the 67 side we found that the owners of the cars were more willing to share information provided that their names and tags are NOT made public. If we get a question on a 67 from someone if the car is on the registry we always answer telling the person yea or nay but stress that all information is what a person supplied and we do NOT validate or certify the car as real. There are very good resources that provide those services for a fee with some type of guarantee. If the 69 group feels publishing XXX is what they want that's cool as long as everyone sharing their information knows upfront, we can't change the rules in the middle of the game.

Can you email me a copy of the template you use? Information erased as needed to satisify your commitments to others - I'd like to see what information we need to think about collecting. Thanks, Steve
