Crazy car

Ok this badboy is loaded with cool stuff.. Take a look that its says hand written to delete the stripe! There is no evidence I can see on the trim tag to denote this ( I was hoping for a dash or something clueish).. all be it the nose was Chevys job.. How did it happen? I'm sure it did happen this guys bought a ton of cool options.. Also the car got white line tires. I've seen this before and I bet they were Firestone D-70's just with white instead of red!. What is EZI? anyone know?

The guy got Special steering? and paid in full!

Me too but the car came with AC... tinted glass comes automatic with AC... No?

Did my friend who has 65 Impalas refere to EZI as that whacky glass contraption on the dash that uses a prism to see the red-green-yellow light above you when the traffic light changes?

Hmmmm.. Now I'm not sure,either??? I've always heard folks refer to their GM cars having "EZI glass" (meaning factory tint).

Tinted glass seems to be the only thing available that is $30.55. It's also not mentioned as tinted glass on the Car Invoice, but on the order form it is mentioned as tinted glass for $30.55. Awesome car BTW!!! If it were only a four speed!

Has anyone ever seen another POP where the owner's name is stamped and not the tape?

EDIT: Tom CRG options spreadsheet says C60 AC comes with V01 hvy duty radiator, K02 temp controlled fan, and K76 61 amp generator. No mention of A01 tinted glass, all.

Oh! Right Mike thats what I forgot to mention.. what the heck is that! maybe a replacement POP?

With regards to the glass.. No kidding? I just assumed I'd read or known from the past that all AC cars got tinted glass.. It makes sense as thats part of keeping the interior cool.. like that strip of rubber over the top of the core support to force more air through the radiator core and the clutch fan and 23" core.. etc.. interesting.. I think I'm gonna learn some stuff off this car

What is tells me is again..the Nose stripe has nothing to do with the - (Dash) and..... It's very possible if not likely that a buyers name was stamped into plate if the car is already paid for up front!! ;-)

I've always assumed the POP was printed at the Plant? Thats why the dealer got the cheese bag Dymo hand machine? But didn't the Zone or somewhere have a POP making machine for replacements? I'm fuzzy.. someone enlighten me on how this guys name is stamped with the real POP machine

We know there were replacements, my guess based off of how much the Main Office was involved in things like this back then that a Zone office would be the location but who knows..... Little changes were made every year it seems so it's hard to say exactly!
However..... I'm pretty sure if a car was bought and paid for such as this one.... The plate would reflect the buyers name!!

Yes but has anyone ever seen one before? I did do a "gm protecto plate" google image search. All had dynamo but I did find one for a '68 GMC 4wd Suburban.

Coincidently in that image search I found the picture below (EDIT only get a red "X" won't post, it's a 67 RS coupe in pace car colors)which took me to the same 67-72 truck forum. Isn't that someone we know?
