I wanted to make some sort of display for the '93 pit badges I acquired recently, both silver and bronze. When I buy items like this I like to display them. Not keep them in a box somewhere. I also bought a '93 Indy race ticket stub on auction, and have it displayed on the left side of my desk hutch in a 4" by 6" photo holder.
Below is the badges mounted in the same size holder as the Indy ticket. Another 4" by 6" holder. The background is a picture I made up of the Indy 500 fender decal, along with the title to identify the badges. It came out pretty nice. With the ticket on one side, and this display on the other, Everything is balanced out. This message has been edited. Last edited by: IPC 93,
That's cool. I feel the same way regarding the items I collect, I hate just sticking the stuff in a drawer. I have a display frame/box that I put in the engine compartment when I show the car. The 'frame/box' is 16"X20" and is clear hard plastic with a cardboard filler. These are sold in stores that stock picture frames etc. It enables me to display the smaller items - key chains, various cardboard items,(ticket/passes)emblems and decals along with the car's story and history. It easily attaches to something in the engine compartment so that it and its contents don't 'walk away'. It is very light and portable and for ease of carrying and storage I put it in a zippered clear bag that a comforter (bed cover) came in.

Cool idea J. Especially like the way you tie it to something to "maintain it". The first trophy I ever won, way back in the late 60's for a 55 Chevy I had, got taken from a display I had around the car.
Just to expand a little. I use name tag lanyards to attach the displays. I use the same idea for the '93 Indy hat as well as the '3 hole' soft binder showing pics etc. Finally, I built what I will call an upside down 'T' ramp, to display the Camaro flag. I run one of the rear wheels on to the base and secure the flag post to the upright. Not only does it stay in place, but the flag doesn't hit the car. Isn't it just lovely to share
Lanyard tie downs is pretty slick idea. Always good to share ideas. Learn something new that way. I want to get one of those 'T' ramp stands, or 'L' shaped. To put the bio and window sticker. When I display at car shows.
Not to dominate this discussion, but I've seen a lot of very good looking 'L stands' but few, allowed for the possible movement of the upright. Should someone lean on it or a strong wind arrise, they are prone to hitting the car. Also, if no provision made to run a front wheel onto the base, these things can really take off in the wind.
