Ok... so the films been bought.. Bills $800 + deep right now. I have the film and am dropping it off at the place for conversion and will have far more details about that adventure come Friday.. That won't be any cheaper than $500 to start.. The good news is that its happening. Anyone that offered to help with the expenses is asked to contact Bill and fess up to him. I will worry about my expenses afterwards...

In the mean time. I believe we will want to resell this item after we convert. ( correct me if I'm wrong Bill ) Charley: I think you were bidding on it initially confused If you want to make an offer by all means do.. Wink

As an added bonus.. We have what I believe is a new to anyone, two page piece of memorabilia Cheers Eeker

Check it out racer

I spoke to C.B Chauvin (Charley) back in early 06. I'm afraid he really had nothing to do with the activities that we all had hopes on!
He is also listed in the Activity Book as a chairman..... When I mentioned that to him he just laughed and said that was a title that almost everyone was given back in the day but no one received any extra pay for!!
Although I felt if I had more time to work on the guy he may have yielded more info I wasn't going to push the guy....He was in an Old Folks Home and he was bed riden! I think he was 89 then!

Exactly!!! He passed on evening getting one of what I believe to be the Blue Top Pace cars when he came into Indy for a more confortable Impala!!
His mind was still sharp...but his body was failing..... He handled a number of different promotions that the Central Office would be apart of.....
He felt he really didn't have much to offer but he was one of the parts that made this almighty program the biggest thing Chevrolet was ever apart of up until that date!!! Wink

Went to get the film back yesterday. The guy who owns the place did it much sooner than expected because he's headed out for vacation Big Grin

Theres good and bad news. The good news is that the film is complete, stable and has all the beginning and end stuff like the focus screen etc.. The film was transfered with much much more clearity than the versions we have seen. I have not had time or even know how to freeze frame spots to check for car #'s but theres still hop of that.. also it is possible to have the guy cull out a single frame from the original film of cars to hyper focus in hopes of finding more numbers.. BUT that costs real money per hour. So I'm quite sure we have one of the best versions now first

The bad news is that the film is red.. to have the color restored is expensive as well and all that would ever do is confirm that our cars where white and blue Roll Eyes so not that realavant in my eyes...

I'll spend more time with it soon and then we'll decide how many copies we need and also how the heck we are paying for all this confused

Tom , by the sounds of it we need to work out how many people originally said they wanted to be in on this. Once we know this we can work out a cost per person to buy in and once everyone has paid in we can each get a copy and then start selling copies if they are able to be sold. I said I was in when it was originally asked so be sure to list me.... Cheers

I'm still in, not going anywhere. After I get a copy, all I need is a '67. Big Grin
