Here's an ad for a nice 30th Anniversary Camaro with the graphics of a Festival Car. Unless the VIN listed is
a typo, the car is not included in the Camaro Euthusiast Festival Car article.
Very interesting. 71 is the right VIN as that is what is on the window sticker. Car 70 and 72 are on the list of 50 delivered
to the track. May need Howard and Jim on this one. Were others dressed up and given to media and not included in the count
of 50 because they weren't assigned to the track?

Really nice car. I wonder why no vehicle report comes up? Experian, (AutoCheck), can't locate any such VIN, or maybe they
typed it wrong in their search for records? Not surprising though, they claimed my son's 30th had 54,019 miles on it when
they posted a report for it. I had to prove to them they were wrong before they corrected it.

Ron, I think the VIN is correct. To my knowledge,
all the 4th generation VINs were a 17 digit number. Carfax recognizes the number and has has three records for this VIN.
That one looks legit to me. Correct decals on the doors (notice tiny TM "trade mark" at the bottom right hand corner of door
decals, the after market knock offs don't have this TM on them). Paperwork all fits the car and time frame as well. Kind
of surprising that the drivers seat bolster is in such worn condition with so few miles, must have been a large person using
it for numerous short drives to show that much wear with such low miles. My 1997 has about the same miles and my seat bolsters
still look new, but I am a slim guy and am very careful getting in and out of it. Very nice car overall, but I have not
seen any of these bring this kind of money even when they were new much less the last couple years!

Looks like a real festival car to me. Don Hines is a Sports Caster on a local TV chanel here in Indy. Maybe a last min car
for the media. Car Fax is clean with only three records. 2005-2009. Bob McDormit had a large collection of Pace Cars. We have
probably seen this car before.

What does the license plate number on the loan to Don Hein mean? ECF 47.
This is my car. I bought it a couple of
years ago at Mecum Auction. The bolster is dirty from Blue jeans....It was cleaned up but too late for pictures. I agree that
the price is high but the guy selling it for me wants to try it. I guess we will see.

You know Bill, something
I noticed was that many of the 30th Anniversary Festival Car VINs are in consecutive order. In the past, I thought that convertibles
were scattered out along the production line because of the extra time needed for assembly. Either the extra time for building
a number of convertibles in a row wasn't a concern or they didn't come off the line in consecutive VIN order.
This
car is definitely within the VIN range of the Festival Cars that year. As for the car having the graphics, an influential
person probably wouldn't of had any trouble acquiring an authentic set of graphics. Like Bill said, it would be interesting
to hear what Howard or Jim had to say.
I am not an expert on 97s (or any for that matter) but here are my thoughts. Did the car get PDIed at Bill Estes. The window
sticker looks like the Dealer "reprint" with Bob M. Chevy listed as the dealer. This would be true for a festival car back
then. Bob bought a lot of festival pace cars back then and got pick of the litter. Low miles, no damage ect. Not all Festival
cars arrive at the same time. We all know Howard made good records but they are not 100% as things always change at the last
minute. Order 50 and they send 52 ect. I still think it was a festival car based on the driver form.

Just checked to see how this auction went. The highest bid received was $11,766. In better economic times, I'm pretty sure
the car would have gotten higher bids. It is a nice car, something any owner would be proud to say was his.
All of the 96 Brickyard cars that I have ever seen for sale or on display all had consecutive VIN's.I know they did this in
96 for sure and this car falls right in there at the end of the run.It may not be on the list but the VIN is correct for that
run of Brickyard Camaro's.May not have been a track car but could have definetly been used in Indy for something to do with
the Brickyard.I would bet on it being a legitimate Brickyard Festival car.I have records on 2100031,37,44,52 and a few more
in another notebook so it is definetly in the sequence.Price is high for what others have sold for.
