Welcome to the site Tammy. What can you tell us about your car? Did you buy it new and if so, what dealer? Does it still have all the graphics? Did you receive the special event plate or it's application form? Please post some pictures when you can.

Thanks, just started checking out websites on these cars b/c I am in the process of deciding what to do with my car. I either need to begin the process of restoring it or think about selling it to someone else who might be interested in doing so.

I purchased my car from Hendrix in Raleigh NC in May of 2001. They knew NOTHING about the car to the extent that I was second guessing authenticity myself and it was being sold as "used" with 1400 miles on it. I did not get either a plate or application form. What I did get was a dayminder that had fallen under where the top folds down. I won't get into details on here about who it belonged to but it had every detail about the entire weekend in it, names, numbers etc.

I emailed the person who owned the planner off the biz card inside and had a great chat with him about the cars and BY event itself. He put me in touch with chevy brand team exec who I got some good info from as well. I returned the planner as requested and as a thank you the owner sent me hotel comp, BY tickets, Iroc Tickets infield passes and passes to all practices etc for the 2001 BY weekend. It was all awesome.

Now that is a cool story! I would consider that pretty convincing documentation even with no other original track paperwork on the car! I am sure there are folks on here who know who that car was assigned to by the VIN alone. Good luck with the car whatever you do with it!

I don't know if you've seen one of the special event plates before, so I'll post a picture of one.

The plate would have been the same number as the car. The applicatiom form would have also been in the car and in 2000 I believe it would of had the name of the person who was assigned the car. I have never been able to verify that fact, though. Here is a picture of a plate application form from the 2000 Brickyard 400.

You have an interesting story to go with your car. Most of us here know very little about who were in our cars.

Welcome to the site. I remember reading an article in Camaro World about you picking the car up at track, attending the 35th Anniversary party and then driving home to Washington State. I enjoyed reading that story and have wondered if you still own the car. Its nice to have another owner find this site.

Hey Guys, I am now the proud owner of the #10 Brickyard and I was wondering if you have any more 'historical pictures' of it. I'm creating a scrapbook/binder that I will show, along with the car. Thanks!
