I found this auction tonight for a 2000 Brickyard Camaro. That would bring the total number of cars found with graphics to thirteen, plus several others that were at Indy in 2008 that I have not been able to identify by VIN. Anyone ever notice the two different sizes of bowties on the cars? When I had my 2000 redecaled, Gordon from Graphik Concepts made a comment about problems installing the first bowties and that a smaller size was later substituted. I will try and post a picture of the larger bowtie.

Here are a couple of pictures illustrating what I was referring to above. Graphik Concepts mentioned not all the 2000 Brickyards had the bowtie installed. However, their records do include which cars did and which didn't.

I noticed that EBAY ad last night, not under PACE CAR or BRICKYARD, but CAMARO SS. Looks to be a nice car.

These pictures show even a better view of the graphics on the hood. I'll be real interested to see what kind of bids this car will get. I agree with you Lee, it looks like really nice car.

What is the reason for the smaller bowtie? tom @ camaropacecars.com ( remove the space between m,@,c)

Tom, I don't know the answer to that question. I think it has to do more with ease of installation than with appearance of the graphic. The hood scoop is not a rectangular shape, it is narrower at the back of the hood than it is at the inlet of the scoop. This makes it difficult to apply a graphic without distorting its shape. With the smaller bowtie, the graphic extends past the top surface of the scoop in areas of basically equal shapes making it easier to install. The same is not true for the larger graphic. Because of this, it is very difficult for the installer to keep a constant pressure across the width of the larger decal while using a squeege to apply it. This would have resulted in the chance of more distortions and wrinkles in the graphic which would require more time to eliminate. With the number of vehicles involved, this had to be a concern for Graphik Concepts and is probably the most logical explaination. As for appearance, I perfer the smaller bowtie. I like the way the entire knot is positioned on top of the scoop.

The reserve wasn't met with the high bid of $12,700 from 8 different bidders. It was good to see the amount of interest the car got with 674 views. Would be a nice car to own.

Nice car. Looks like they store the tonneau cover bag in the wrong spot. Might break the back glass with it there and when the top is lowered. 2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Brickyard 400 #22, SLP Build #0036 and 35th Anniversary Build #47

I noticed that too, but never thought about the effect when the top was lowered. Because my 98 came without the bag, I wasn't sure where the proper place to store the covers were and began to wonder if I was doing it wrong all this time. Thanks for pointing this out Greg because I was considering changing to how this picture showed it.

Peter, the tonneau cover has velcro on the back side and is made to be in the deep well attached to the front of the well facing the back window. Nothing big should really should be on top of the panel below the top. Put your top down and you will see where it folds up. 2002 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Brickyard 400 #22, SLP Build #0036 and 35th Anniversary Build #47

Peter, Here is a picture of my # 40 car just after my car was decaled.. It looks about the same... BTW... Did you get you window sticker when you got your car? I bought mine plus another from a different car from Howard..I did that because if the owner ever turned up I wanted to give it to them.

Martin, one of the things I've noticed from the ads I've saved is that cars #10 and under had the larger bowties. Cars #11 and 12 had no bowtie. I don't know how many didn't have bowties, but at least 3 cars did not. I know this from pictures I have. The next car I have records for is #19 and that, along with every number that I've found after that, has had the smaller bowtie. I did not get the window sticker for my car. If you want to sell it let know. Along those lines, what plate number did you buy? I know plates #27 and #37 came up for sale around the time you looking. If it was 27, then I may want to try and track it down because its possible that could be my cars plate.
