Hi Folks, Spent the weekend getting very frustrated and hope you guys can get me going again. Here is what I did. Installed a 350 that codes from a 70-73 with only 2 bolt holes in the offset for the starter. Behind that is a 153 tooth flywheel with a 10.5" clutch setup. Bellhousing is the 3840383. Clutch fork is from classic industries. Behind that is a 3 notched sagi 4 speed. Now for my issues... I can't find a starter that fits the bellhousing and has an offset bolt pattern for mounting. I currently have a starter that has the bolt pattern straight across but fits the bellhousing. Not a good thing only using one bolt. After installing everything, went to connect up the clutch. My fork is litterally right against the floor pan. I have no room to engage the damn thing. I looking for suggestions please. Is it possible that I needed a different ball that the fork mounts to? Is the fork crap? If folks think it is better to just go with a 621 and 11" setup, I will do it. (Iknow where you can get a cheap 10.5" setup) If that is the way to go, will I have starter issues? Thanks in advance for your help. Dave

Huh.. You might want to post that question on a much bigger site like camaros .net.. Thats kinda a custom question and theres a ton of hot rod types there.. The starter bolts to the block so I'm not sure what that could be all about? I'd lean toward the 11" swap out Someone very versed in this stuff is out there somewhere tom @ camaropacecars.com ( remove the space between m,@,c)

You would have to get a parts store with several cheby starters but you need to go through the 60s and 70s stuff. There will be a starter that will bolt to those holes.I'm not in parts anymore so I cant even give you a number to cross.Problem is most parts houses dont stock this stuff. If you find a freindly store they may have an illustrated guide or a real parts guy, not a kid punching keys on the puter!

Thanks guys, I decided to go with an 11" setup using the 621 bellhousing. Parts arrive tomorrow for it. Anyone need a 10.5 setup? Flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and throwout bearing. All where installed but never used. Engine started in neutral and never got further than that. Will make one hell of a deal, but it used in a camaro. Dave
