There was no nose or anything on the car when the stamps were put on.. the second shift thing needs more thought because they are always mixed... where are the ALL green ones if there was a second shift color.. I bet it was a different guy for a weird reason or for example a guy that got his balls busted for stamping a crappy car and said " hey boss...I'm using green so I know it was really me " or something to that affect..
Maybe a replacement guy and they wanted to know exactly who was stamping.. Like the tag in the pocket of your new pants that says INSPECTED BY # 32.. confused

Actually now that I think of it.. when you buy those bolt kits from AMK they have a piece of paper in the box that has the persons full name that actually packed it.. WinkPretty easy to find the moron with that method hammer

ALL the cars I have had have always been orange.. I have seen green but rarely

Could green be a re-inspection stamp for a failed initial inspection?

Sorry guys, I linked a different PTB stamp thread than I intended. In the proper thread linked below, (2 pages) there are 5 different cars noted that had all green stamps. Personally I beleive the 1st shift/2nd shift info.

Those three final Fisher Body inspections were done at the same time, in a well-lit inspection area about three stations long near the end of the Fisher Trim Line, with repairmen present to address any issues noted. Don't over-think this - it was a pretty simple production system.

We don't know for sure that the stamp colors indicate the shift, but observation of known-original cars would lead you to that as a logical conclusion.

My untouched original 02D Norwood '69 has green inspection stamps.
