I spent some time reading the posts I could find about air cleaners. Have a question please... I purchased an air cleaner on Ebay a while ago where the seller stated that the air cleaner was for a 67-69 camro 350. Thinking was great, just what I need. Now the problem. My air cleaner measures 15 3/8 " across at the top of the opening. I have found a chrome lid that is for a 67 350 truck that fits that same opening, but nothing for a camaro that size. What is the opening on camaro air cleaners please? I read the black verse chrome debate with great interest. Most likely will go black here. 350 / 4 speed goes in this weekend, can't wait. Thanks again for all your help.

The 350 engine does not use an open element air cleaner. It is closed with a snorkel that has a slight upward tilt. The 350 lid is chrome and the 327/4bbl lid is black. Here is a picture. ![]()

There is a real decent reproduction available for less than the price of rechroming the lid. Keep in mind that some have a few oddball holes and vents for like Air Conditioned cars and cars with Air Injector Reactor etc.. If you car is a basic ( Not California delivered ) without AC ( not sure why? ) then the base should have no vent or access holes in it... tom @ camaropacecars.com ( remove the space between m,@,c) ![]()

Note, the AC cars also had no vent or hole if they were delivered outside of California, for LA built cars.
