Tom - That is a great letter. I don't know why but am glad to see documentation that allowed #116 to be part of the Festival Parade

Larry. That letter is gold to you. You can believe D'Olivio never got the car and ended up with #70 because it was a done deal by the time the letter was written and you can sense the frustration with the cars or lack of enough cars to satisfy everyone

Also your car documented towing is visual proof D'Olivio didn't end up with it..

No other numbers listed on that sheet have turned up yet except yours! Eeker

Tom, Thanks for your excellent documentation homework. Is there a way I can get a copy of that original letter for my documentation? Have we ever turned up a document that has a list by number of the parade cars?

Larry this is a full page copy from the Hooper 67-68 recognition guide book. I can send you a better scan via regular email...

That list would be the coveted " Assignment Sheets "... We all long for those papers!

Tom , wasnt the photo showing the cars near the flag poles showing only 5 cars with trailers? In the photo of the cars on the track it shows one with the roof down and five with the roof up. Is it perhaps the actual pace car leading these other five cars? Just throwing ideas out there to toss around. Never know what might shake up out of it.

Excellent.. We first need to review the parade footage...Its easy to tell how many different Camaros because all the vintage racers on the trailers are different colors & numbers etc Wink Have no time right now but am looking forward to figuring that out! Good theory Wink

If this proves true and you and Kline end up knowing so much about your cars and end up with even more vintage pics I'll be pissed with jealousy What checkered flag

Goeff - I like you approach to identify the Camaro numbers by race car association. Do we have enough details?

I have been reviewing the video John Barrickman found at the Indy TV station. I have not seen the new converted film.

When I was at Indy recently for the reunion , I revisited the museum and had a look at some of the photos of the cars again.

My particualar interest was of any of the cars which were towing trailers in the Indy Festival Parade.

Whilst we have always had these photos we wanted some more information on the trailer hitch and also a few other details. Here is a great close up shot of Larry Kliens car # 116.

I didnt even think of it at the time , but have we contacted the Museum to see if they still have these trailers or the hitches?

The one pictured above is the heavy duty one which had a jockey wheel on it as well.

Not all of the trailers were this heavy duty as most did not have the jockey wheel set up.

The picture forces one to admit the likelyhood of that chain reaching up past the left side of the fuel tank to the trunk floor is indeed plausible.. maybe with one of those funky towtruck chain clasps.. I cannot think of what else could be suspending that chain off the ground
