Since I own a 1993 Indy Pace Car, I usually don't post on the '67 forum but I thought you guys might enjoy this. Last Saturday, I had the unique opportunity to view the actual 1967 Camaro pace car that AJ Foyt turned down after the race. It was a pleasure seeing the car and talking to the owner who lives in southern Indiana. He brought it out to a small car show near where I live.......Here's a pic......

Hey Tom....Yep, It's Ed's car. It's beautifully restored and it shows just a bit over 6,000 miles. I was really impressed with it and how Ed said he obtained it. I didn't have my camera with me so my Son-in-Law took the pics with his Iphone. Didn't even think to have him get the trim tags. I'll definately take pics of them if I get another chance. Ed's a really nice guy and I hope to see him again. He lives less than 2 hours from me.

Yes.. and Jerry has an O-1 pacer as well!

I used all my tricks to prove his story is true.. I have dead ended at the point where I have no reason to believe it isn't true but lack any proof past verbal. The biggest thing is that he bought the car BRAND NEW which wasn't theoretically possible then as all the cars were used during the race and therefore had to have some amount miles on them.. The story is intriqueing and I hope some day to make it definitive..

His story is very very plausible with the only possible exception being the sales man for the car could have thrown a cock & bull story at him.. But seeing as how they all hung with the same circle of friends I find that unlikely as well.
