Geoff. yes as soon as I get time I will rereview all like you suggest. Our CD has a lot of trailer footage if I recall and I will review that as well! Would be interesting to see if any Indy 500 historians that like all years have info on how many times these old cars were trailered etc... This certainly wasn't the first or last year that these white trailers took these old racers out of the Museum for a spin in the sunshine ( rain actually )

Would be interesting if they pulled 10 trailers total.. that would be no small coincidence for the reported 10 Camaros made available to The Track for use

Geoff - I had lost track of this activity as it left the main page. The pictures and homework look terrific Tom. I have been really busy at work and hope to review more of the video detail shortly.

OK I finally got to review the DVD produced by David Parr. There is some excellent footage of the trailer cars as well as the festival cars in there. It all starts at Chapter five near dead bang from 21:00 in case your looking for it. Unfortunately while looking at in on a lap top it is very hard to pause and also to view due to size. BUT I did get to sort out a few more drivers , and race car info. Please bear in mind some of this may not be entirely 100% correct. I have included as many details as I can so that if future photos turn up we might be able to identify the pace car , race winner , trailer or race car easily. I have updated my earlier post below;

AJ FOYT JR race winner 1961 , 1964(Red Jacket , Black tie , White Shirt) Alone in pace car # 111? without top boot fitted. Driver red jacket. Race Car # 1 White with stripes (Sheraton - Thompson winning in 1964)being towed on single wheel trailer with front dolly wheels , fitted with red rims , white walls and chrome hubcaps. Red tail lamps on round fenders.

MAURIE ROSE race winner 1947 , 1948(unknown Jacket) unknown if alone in pace car # 99 with top boot fitted. Race Car # 3 Blue (Blue Crown Special winning in 1947 & 1948) being towed on single wheel trailer with front dolly wheels , fitted with red rims , white walls and chrome hubcaps. Red tail lamps on round fenders. (Kid + Parent inside race car)

SAM HANKS race winner 1957(Blue Jacket , Blue Tie , White Shirt)Alone in pace car # ? with top boot off. Race Car # 9 Yellow (Belond Special 1957)being towed on single wheel trailer fitted with front dolly wheels. (not sure of wheels or fenders etc)

GRAHAM HILL (moustache) race winner 1966(Black Jacket , White Shirt , Black and White Tie) Alone in Pace Car # 116 Race Car # 32 Yellow (Marmon Wasp winning in 1911)being towed on heavy duty tandem wheel trailer. (only one used like it)

LOUIS MEYER race winner in 1933 and 1936 (Beige Jacket , white shirt , black tie). With wife wearing white shawl in Pace Car # ? Race Car # 14 Gold (Miller 500 winning in 1928 , 1930 or 1932? not sure on this part?)Older Car being towed on single wheel trailer fitted with dolly front wheels. Trailer fitted with chrome cragar type five spoke wheels and round fenders.

PETER DE PAOLO race winner in 1925 (Blue Jacket , White Shirt , Burgundy Tie , Balding Older guy with moustache) With wife in red hat and teen daughter in Pace Car # 1xx (appears 3 digit)? Race Car # 12 Creme (Possibly a Duesenberg ? )An Older car being towed on single wheel trailer fitted with front dolly wheels , white wall tyres , red rims and chrome hubcaps.

JIM CLARK - 500 Festival Car

GENERAL JAMES DO LITTLE and wife - 500 Festival Car

I believe in time with better ways of viewing this footage we will be able to sort this out more and hopefully get the missing pace car numbers as well. Cheers

Geoff - The 16MM 1967 Indy 500 film may also be able to fill in some gaps.
