I am wondering if anyone can confirm whether my car is a true 67 Pace Car and whether it is a Festival, Brass, or other. Below is the VIN info and I believe everything is typed correctly:

04A
67-12667 NOR105949
732-Z C-1
WD 2LGS 3SL
4N 5BY-

Welcome!

By what you posted.....It looks real good that you do indeed have a Big Block Non Festival car.
However...the fact that your Paint code is known as a "Dealer car" doesn't mean it may not have an interesting story behind her.....
Please post what ever history you know about her!

I will post some pics in a couple of days, however, the car is in pretty bad shape now and has been garaged for the past 15 years.

The story behind her.....

Back around 1980, my father purchased this car for my brother and I from Auto Trader. It was purchased from a gentleman that lived in Tucker, GA and was advertised as a Pace Car. The car was painted an ugly baby blue at the time of purchase. My brother and I abused the car for many years and it was repainted to a dark blue color. Luckily, I kept most of the original parts and equipment. The car has an MW stamp on the engine block that is a 396 and I think it is a 325 hp. The car also has a 4 speed Muncie in it. The Big Block has a scarred piston wall but luckily I kept the block. I have another block that I used. Right now, the car has a 350 in it but it has not been running since it was parked 15 years ago. It has the deluxe interior package that has been re-covered. I am beginning to bring her back to life after a long time of not seeing sunlight. I will try and find out who the past owner was from Tucker, GA and go from there.

If anyone can find any additional info about my car, I would greatly appreciate it as this is all I know about the car.

Awesome pics.

She looks not that bad.

Guys check out how dark the kick panels are.

I have some which are original bright blue which also look that dark. The ones in my car which have been resprayed are closer to the bright blue of the repro seat covers.

This is why I love these pics.... Keep them coming first

Owners forms

TRex! Follow this link and fill these sheets out and send them to us! We have a section for owners to discuss the finer points of cars and we would welcome you participation Big Grin

Car looks great to me.. begging for a resto but all there! Thats great you never changed out the original steering wheel Cheers. a shining example of how they really were when the got the Deluxe wheel! Very nice.

Yes: I have all but concluded that the lower portion of the interior was all meant to be a much darker blue as a design element.. I have all but concluded that injection molded pieces fade either lighter or darker in many instances from original and that they did strive to match the top 3/4 of the interior when new but the different levels of fading has us all terribly confused...

Sorry guys,

Have been kinda busy. The back seat "back rest" is the only original interior that is original other than the dash board, which has a crack. I actually put a smaller steering wheel on for a few years but finally put the original steering wheel back on. The door skins were beat up and I replaced with black ones that don't match. The carpet was replaced and I don't think it was exactly the right color. The rear panels are original and someone cut holes for speakers before I bought it so I don't know if that is original or not. I also spray painted the dash area as you can probably tell and it was not the exact color. The top is not the original as it has been replace a time or two. I have a Hurst shifter in it because the Muncie would not shift right and I didn't know how to fix it. Not sure if I have the Muncie still but I believe I have it somewhere. Keep the questions coming, if you like. I have a couple of questions as well.

The car did come with front disk brakes (4 calipers each) but the car never had the power brake booster and the brakes were always spongee. Not sure if this came with power brakes but I never saw it and it is like it was when purchased. I think the rear end is a 308 but not positive. It definitely is posi-traction and am pretty sure it is all original underneath. I have replaced the shocks. I also never had the original wheels and bought it with Cutlass mags on it. Not sure exactly what wheels would have come on it. Let me know.

Thanks

It obvious to guys like us that the car needs a lot.. We tend to gravitate towards restoring them to stock configuration and really relish in what parts are still original to the car.. We all pretty much understand that few cars get to keep any interior parts from original and guys like myself who start out with cars needing full restorations are happy just to get good original dash pads, seat belts and window cranks Roll Eyes The rest of the interior soft parts rarely survive.. So your pretty much in the same boat as 80% + of us... Cheers

I think I speak for everyone when we say " roll that sucker out of the gargage and take a bunch of pictures"!!.. Get all the numbers you can find like the trans and the rear end etc and tell us what they are...We have big spread sheets in the Owners Section of this site to help you fill in all the blanks with the parts that are missing from your car or replaced with incorrect ones...

Do you have any original documents for the car? How many original engine components do you have? Could you take a picture of the engine block numbers please

Your car came originally with D70 14" redline tires and Corvette style rally wheels.. they were 14x6 and coded with two letters by the valve stem that say "DG". You most likely did originally have non power disc brakes.. One of my cars had that as well.. spongy is air or a failure somewhere.. even something as simple as backed off rear brake shoes makes cars stove forward when stopping... easy fix...that system should would impressively even by todays standards

My car is also a 04A build Norwood car with the 4N and manual disc front brakes.

When you take your pic's, I would like it if you would try to get one of the fuel line as it comes past the right motor mount on the frame.

Thanks for the info and I will take a picture of the fuel line down at the right motor mount on the frame. I am pretty sure mine is still "factory looking" but my engine in it is currently a 350. Does your block have an MW motor (325 hp, I believe)?

Tom,are you saying you think the kick panels probably matched the dash pad?
