Larry Weaver has a "B" tag and has just sent this! So preliminarily it would seem Johns right that the holes were stamped in all tail panels and backing sheet metal at the sheet metal shop as this hole for the little sabre tooth guards is clearly visible and in the silly shape I spoke of because it has to suffer through the pinch weld process and its two sheets thick racer

I would have to say at this point it is becoming clear that the "B" on the trim tag is simply for the Fisher boys to drill-punch the two holes for the rear larger option bumper guards.

Questions that remain:

#1.. I believe you could order just the front guards..is this true? I think my C-1 car has this option. I would imagine it would be on the Chevy side like a tilt steering column so no mention would be made on the Trim Tag confused

#2 You would need to have a trim tag with a "B" in the 5th section to help coordinate vintage pictures with actual cars if rear bumper guards can be seen. True?

#3 Front guards showing in a vintage picture that does not have a clear shot of the rear bumper can not be connected to the Trim Tag for research. correct?

#4 I beleive it is-was popular for dealers to add the guards to cars upon customer request.. that would explain why these large guards continue to pop up for sale in packages that include hardware and detailed installation instructions..

Two of the rears were re-chromed in 1982 along with the ones on the car, the 2 chromed ones are wrapped in newspaper from 1982.
