Actually I think there are at least another 5-6 Pace Cars in my database that are not listed here.

Going to send you a PM later Pat to see if that is one of the ones that I have but did not include.

I do not know about why there are so many white ones built (compared to ther colors). However could be they were built as convertibles for racing. We had that with one of the CDN cars, ended up being raced early on. Chevrolet was "secretly" into racing at this time and may have wanted to test the waters with BB convertibles.
Not to take awy from the thread but 1/2 of the CDN sold cars were also BB cars, so a trend may have already been in motion after the race with these BB cars, prior to the CDN shipped cars.

David.. sort of my line of thinking as well.. But these cars with RS and deluxe interiors amongst other luxury items stick a fork in that theory ( racing ) in my eyes... its a weird one this situation..

Maybe ( and I mean just maybe ) there was a single fellow who all the complaints for IPC replicas funneled down to who pushed for the L78 on so many as a mistaken duplication of 92? All it takes is one guy high up in corporate with an agenda ( or even as a guy whose intentions were pure ) and this is what you get.. confused

OK.... So we have handful of lets say 20 - 25 Pacers (0-1), Replicas (C-1), and a handful of RPO dealer created replicas were outfitted with the killer L78 engine package. That new 04D 0-1 4K find from Pat (Tyler's new car)is sure a beauty!!!

We have (at least in second hand knowledge) found even less blue toppers of the (10) C-4 RPO zone cars and (8) 0-4 pacers... Just how many of these cars have we found??? Less then the L78's!

I only have 4 or 5 of these cars outfitted in RS/SS trim that are 0-4 or C-4 in the 03C to 06 timeframe. In my mind these cars are equally rare, but its not something that brings serious dollars unless we find an L78 among them, of which one C-4 Zone car was said to exist.

I've been trying to document every C-4 and 0-4 car I can get information on and these cars are very slim pickens.... Wink

How come every time I start talking/asking about the blue topper everyone clams up??? I'm going to get a complex... Just kidding! Wink

I sure wish I had more information about these illusive cars. There's suppose to be 10 RS/SS C-4 RPO created Zone cars with the beloved mag wheel hubcaps and black nose, and 8 RS/SS 0-1 "-" coded pacers with ralleys and a blue nose. These car could have participated in activities prior to the race and been there during the race.

I also have a few RS, SS, and one RS/SS that could be considered possible dealer RPO replicas based on the build timeframe 03C to 06D. These are black nosers, typically with hubcaps.

All these cars came with blue convertible top frames to match the blue top. Just as a reference here's the Zone blue topper at the track back in 67.

Does anyone have any information or people I can contact who either own one or know about the existance of one of these cars?

Thanks Guys.... I've been working on this for perhaps 4 years now and I'm not much further ahead then I was 6 months after starting this.

David,

Yes, I have Rainer's L35 car thats a possible Zone car. Thanks!

I'm hoping to get details on the other couple C-4's and 0-4's that have been mentioned but nothing more then they have been located... I'd like to have all of them on our list with as many details as possible.
