Thanks Tony,
Now that I look at the vintage photo it does look darker and has more of a bluer hue in the background like in the stands and the darker blue lettering on the decals. So it would enhance the Camaro top to be "bluer" too than normal. I still like that bluer top though. Wink It really makes the whole Camaro stand out and look very striking.

I actually feel the true color of a true Blue Top is perfect for the cars they were offered on!!
The Blue was designed to offer CONTRAST to the body color...NOT to take or steal from it!

If you have a picture of a blue top from any 67 that seems to be the right color to you please post it up.. To have a blue top made would you need a sample or do places like Al Knoch already know that color?
Is the blue the same blue as would be on 68 or 69 and Firebirds etc?

Tony,
I agree! The lighter Blue makes the top look faded and older as a more Bluer Top would really contrast well with the interior and Ermine White exterior. Didn't you have a brand new Blue Top once?

So do I my friend!.... As much as I enjoy my current Turquiose dream....there is a peice of me that is missing when I see my old car..... yes Tommy..... That's my old ride in the pic that Tom posted!
According to The Convertible Top Company USA Tops, the color is 100% correct taken from Chevrolet records...... I can't answer if the color is the same for the 8s and 9s ... Probably the 8.... would have to do some research if it's right for the 69s!! ;-)

WTF? That car had a Blue Top at one point even AFTER you painted it? Learn something new everyday.

Hey!!!! Mister Bodybag!!!!!

How's my old rig doing??? The Pic you see above was when I was installing the White Top that was on it when you took ownership....I had to lay out the Blue Top that I had Special ordered for another rig that I was working on just to see what my next Pacer will look like!!!
Now... A little history.... When Kelly Hays bought the car back in 76 the car did have a Blue Top on it!!!! He changed it back to it original white top around 77 0r 78 ;-)

You gave me some pictures of the car with the blue top and blue racing stripes... classic!

Car is doing great. I had the passenger and driver side doors re-hung and tweaked to fit better and so far that's it.

Right now it needs the driver side headlight fixed because it keeps trying to open even when it's already open (headlights on). The limiter and relay have been checked and are working, so it's got me and a few other Camaro guys stumped right now.

Other than that I'm considering putting a 700r4 into it since the TH400 is leaking like a sieve and I've got a 700r4 laying around that came out of my Cadillac.

Tony, Here you go! Cheers

Bodybag,
Why not fix the original TH400? I would hate to see such a beautiful car get non original parts in it. If you are going through all the work to take it out, then why not just fix it and put it back in? Just curious. You got one beautiful Camaro pacer. Big Grin

Tom,

I've got access to the correct swatch at Knoch. They can make you a date coded top. We just need to get them to make the die for the early version.
