Same guy that Painted My '70 Z-28 painted this car. He has been painting cars since 1972. when he was finished he told me that "we used to get single stage paint jobs to look this good too- problem was that they would all fade"

Here is the side view in the sun high reflection and bright white.

BTW...I hate digital camera's - there is a patch of buffing compound in the door that I missed. shooting

Looks super Phil! Now I am once again jealous. I guess I would have to actually put my hands on my car for it to look like that. Gaps and paint are really nice! Super job Phil! Oh and by the way nice place and neighborhood. Let me know when you want to adopt me.

Mike,

Without you over the years, the 1967 people would still be sweating LOTS of details.

I know I would. Cheers Cheers

Just today I picked up one of your old USCC technical articles for a look. Priceless.

Thanks! I had so much more than that article touched on. I wish that it would have been color too.

Hey Phil,
I like the texture. Is that the correct color code for the dash? Charlie's dash seems darker. It almost matches the dash pad.

Tom,

Sharp eye!!

I see what you are talking about... Angles and sunlight play havoc with paint shade appearance. Add to that the difference with 35MM vs Digital and you have yet another variable.

When I took the picture of the dash on my car it was only about 20 minutes after paint completion and one of the cautions that I got from the guy who mixed the paint up was that the inital "as sprayed" color would change slightly when dry.

Here is a different view of #92 where the dash looks lighter. This photo was likely taken in the sunlight.

I'll admit it looks a little light compared to mine but your right about the vaiables etc.. the fact that you've got the textures and its a different color than the dash face is WAY past most guys resto techniques so I would say to leave it so you don't risk making a mess trying to tweak it.. Once the windhields in and you have to look through that to see it as well it will be different still again...

Your call

Your doing great work keep whacking away Big Grin
