How did you get the body of the Camaro up so high and be able to put it on the roller? Also, is the body able to balance itself on that roller or is there more support to the rear of the shell? It looks like the body could tilt or fall back on the rear of the shell. Just curious! Interesting to see. Thanks.

We have 2 10,000 lb lifts at the shop. couldn't be without them!! The cart was built to support the body and allow the blaster access. I have told him and his helper to not get within 6" of the cowl tag, #3 or Vin Tag. I will tell him again. I think tape on the tags is a good idea but I don't want to risk pulling the #3 off at removal.

You can always put a less evasive tape or paper or thin cardboard over the "3" so nothing sticks to the 3 and a more sturdier tape over that. Sort of like a bandaid effect. Wink Thanks for the reply on your lift. It is great to have the right tools for the job. It makes the job go a lot easier and faster. Good luck on your project. Look forward to seeing it's progress. Big Grin

I for one would like to acknowledge that our collective years of hard work has really paid off in this instance and you guys should be proud of yourselves.

Get a load of how bizarre that font is... who'd have ever guessed that shape had we not had a survivor example of "5"

I concur as well. With that sraight squared of residue in the upper right where the very top corner of the number would be, don't see how it could be anything but a #5.

Are we going to get a form so we can add the info to our spreadsheet? Wink

The cowl has the # 2 under the heater box. Driver's door has a #7 and passenger door has a #8

I get the body back from the blaster on Wednesday. He recommends spraying the it with POR 15 and the exterior panels with a Por self etching primer. Any advise on the steps to protect the raw metal?
Thanks, Tom B

I think we used an epoxy primer, but it was some time ago.

There is no way I would put any POR products on a Pacer. POR ends up like porcelyn(sp) and is very hard to remove once you decide you should not have used it. I used Dupont products and put a self etching primer on the bare steel. It has anti-corrosive protection and is very thin, so no heavy build. Most every manufacturer makes a self etching primer.

I used DP90 on the whole front clip and DP 40 or 50 on the back half of the car. Very happy with it.
