Possible Pace Car?

Hello folks,

I'm a new member here with a couple of questions. I have recently come across an 82 pace car, and wanted to verify it's authenticity. I'm getting photos of the trim tag and VIN emailed, but wanted to post the VIN here to hear your comments: 1G1AP8774CL134362

Once I get info on the trim tag I will pass that along also. It appears the car has 98,000 miles, is a CFI, automatic, has rear drum brakes, t-tops, PW, PL. It's missing the original rims, and from what I can tell the dash is missing the indy 500 logo. This raises a few concerns. The car was apparently won on eBay for around $4K, and then imported from Michigan to Canada. Does anyone know this car, or any history behind it? Any help would be most appreciated.

Cheers!

Trim tag is the key, post it up once you get it.

Thanks Bill.

I think my gut feeling about this car has been confirmed. I just found out that the trim tag has been removed from this particular car. There were numerous other things missing, but the trim tag was the clincher. It's too bad because the car was local, and priced right. Any other things about the car you folks can point out that seem suspicious?

If it was faked, which I don't think, they even replicated the overspray correctly on the door jamb.

Hi Bill, is it possible to determine authenticity without the trim tag? Would there be a build sheet somewhere on the car that might verify things? What other clues give you an indication the car is the real deal? I really appreciate the help.

If the build sheet is still there it would be under the passenger seat.
