Those two pace cars looked very nice, but the parade Camaros and Corvettes were definately nothing to write home about! Plain white with a few decals. Not sure how many Camaros there were, but none were used on the track in pre-race festivities.
The Green Corvette looked good on race day. Bill, Jim and myself looked in all the usual places and located Brickyard Camaros numbers 9,12,17,18,19,20, and 21. Brickyard Corvettes 3,7,8 and 14. We know who had these Vetts but not sure yet on the Camaros. Looked like they also reused Indy Vetts 89-99. Bill gets extra credit for locating a 95 Brickyard Camaro in the Parking lot. Who gets to drive all those old Brickyard Pace Cars before the race? How do you volunteer to get on that driver list? My son and I stopped by the museum to check all of them out before they paraded around the track. The 96 Brickyard Camaro Pace Car #1 is getting a bit of wear on it. The seat bolster on the drivers seat is worn pretty bad from getting in and out, the winged wheel raised emblem on the passenger side sail panel is missing, and it has a few little dings/scrapes/chips here and there, but it still looks pretty cool circling the track!
