Hope all of you have a fantastic time at the Indy 500!!! Wish we could be there with the car.

When you get back, if you have time, I would like to know if you were able to find the vehicle # for our car for the Brickyard 400 in 1995. I am going to ask Marilyn to wait to write the letter of authenticity hoping I will have something more for her.

Thanks for all your help!

We received the letter from Marilyn at GraphikConcepts. The car was # 77 at the Indy 500 and car #7 for the 1995 Brickyard 400. GraphikConcepts did the re-decaling. All the Indy 500 cars had the Indy decals removed by Graphik and the Brickyard 400 decals put on. We bought the last set of Brickyard 400 decals from Marilyn. If anyone is in need of them, give us a holler!

According to Compnine, there were only 50 cars made in 1995 that have the same identical options. 50 identical cars - I'm assuming these were the Festival Cars ordered for the Indy/Brickyard in 1995.

Thanks to all of you for the information you gave us. I'm glad to finally have historical data on this car and to finally know her numbers.

And yes, she is for sale!

Good luck with the sale, Melissa. Here's a picture of Car #71 with the "Indy 500" graphics from this years show in Indianapolis.

If you don't have the window sticker from your car, this may be able tell you what the car sticker for.

Peterpar,

Beautiful car!!! I appreciate you scanning the sticker and sending to us. GM wanted $50.00 to replicate a sticker...I just didn't think it was worth it. At least we know what options she was ordered with. The options match what we found on Compnine. I do see they originally came with a white top. Ours is black so at some time it was replaced. Doesn't surprise me with being in the Texas heat. I was surprised to see the total vehicle price. Pretty hefty for a 1995 car. Guess it's no worse than spending 45,000 - 55,000 on a new Camaro now. If the 1995 Indy 500's had the decals removed by GraphikConcepts and they were rebadged for the Brickyard 400, how did you get one with the Indy decals? Pretty Cool!

Marilyn at GraphikConcepts did a letter for us and told us we bought the last set of 1995 Brickyard 400 decals. Hope we never need them!

If you look back at the RPO codes for your car on Compnine, you will see 10T which indicates the car originally came with a white top. A black top would have been listed as 41T. The top color is also shown on the driver door RPO sticker in the bottom righthand corner after the paint code. A white top can be time consuming to keep clean so that may be why a previous owner changed the color when replacing your top.

The car in the picture above doesn't belong to me. I think it belongs to a Chevrolet dealer from Indy. I'm not familiar enough with the 1995 Brickyards to know how many cars had the "500" graphics changed to Brickyard 400, but in other years, not all the cars used at the "500" were redecaled for the NASCAR race. In 1998, only nine Z28's were used for late race.

Here is a picture of a 1995 Brickyard 400 Camaro Z28 Convertible Festival Car that I took sometime during the 1997 Brickyard 400 race weekend. If I remember correctly, it was sitting in a parking lot across the street from the track outside of turn one. It had obviously been updated by the owner with aftermarket wheels, dual stripes, headlight covers, grill, and number on the bumper. Is this anyone's car here on the site??

I wish I had taken more detailed photos of it back then for documentation purposes.

I found this picture of a 1995 Brickyard 400 Camaro Z28 Convertible Festival Car while searching the internet for other Camaro Pace Cars. Apparently it's #41 of 50 and is for sale: http://www.leakecar.com/index....uc_code=SA11&lot=426. Unfortunately, in the headline it says Indy 500 pace car but they mention no fact in the body that these Brickyard cars were leftover Indy 500 Festival Cars.

This car has been for sale quite a while now. It's been in the San Antonio area for at least a year. It has a fair amount of documentation and seems to be in nice shape. I would love to know the VIN for our records. Smiler
